Day 153
Its Carole’s birthday today and June has made more scones for morning tea (I’ve decided to adopt June!!) and Lisa Huitson is coming to the CP to catch up. Not quite a birthday cake but most definitely better and we enjoy catching up with Lisa before we head to golf. We arrive at Darwin GC amidst about 200 policemen and supporters for this charity day in Glen’s honour and supporting Police Legacy in NT. We meet the 3 other guys we will play with, Dave, Craig and Rod who work in different areas of the force. It is a 5 person Ambrose and we have a great afternoon of golf with some great shots and some really awful ones but the company is good and we have a lot of fun. Each team is given a handicap by the roll of dice when we come in and with a clubhouse full of rowdy players (the effects of the free beer evident) it was difficult to hear results. We did win a XXXXGold straw hat each but not sure what for??? We left the revellers and went for dinner at the Trailer Boat Club overlooking the Bay (is there no where in Darwin that we haven’t been for a magnificent water sunset??) for Carole’s birthday.

ReplyDeleteLong time no Blog has finally arrived and welcome to Singapore,great catching up over the weekend even though it was on the phone, not are normal method(the dreaded blog).Its Wednesday afternoon no golf as we are off to Brisbane, QPAC to be exact to The White Album concert,really looking to it, Neil and Robyn Turner are coming with us and its my turn to drive,that's OK I don't need to drink to enjoy myself (my god did you hear the thunder)ha ha,I have even bought a Beatles T shirt for the occasion to surprise everyone (wont they be jealous)Dudley and Bev are off to KL tomorrow for about 10 days or so,but will be back in time to play golf on Wednesday the 19Th of August,That being the date we are all playing together,(That's the Awesome Foursome of course)Then if you two can handle it we will all go out to Dinner as there is money in kitty that needs to be spent,That's when I will be asking the real tricky questions on what really happened on the trip!!!!!!,( in a nice off course).How are you enjoying the Golf in Singapore? after the heat in Darwin it should prepare you both well just keep the liquids up (water that is )every body is over here looking forward to seeing you both,Don't forget to have a couple of Tiger beers for me ,Cheers for now Steve and Marilyn
