Carpark Camping at Litchfield

Wangi Falls in Litchfield National Park
Sunrise on the Daly River

Day 132

Left Daly River and drove to Stuart Highway and headed north through Adelaide River and stopped for a look at the railway museum before getting to Batchelor for lunch. We are going to Litchfield National Park but are not sure where we will stay so as it is mid afternoon we head into the park and stop at one campground which is full so we drive on to Wangi Falls. There is a nice campground with camping bays which are all full. Some people tell us that they are leaving in the morning and we can have their camp spots but the rangers don’t mind if we set up camp in the carpark tonight!! We have never had to do this before but turned out we were one of 20 to 30 people doing the same thing!!
