Back to Camping :)

The amazing Pinnacles

Day 63

We rescue our lonely little camper from the car park of the Resort and head north towards Cervantes and “The Pinnacles” in Nambung National Park. We were able to wander and drive around thousands of limestone pillars rising from the sand dunes. The towns all along this part of the coast are in the middle of some seriously fast developments for lots of sea changers or holiday houses for miners or Perth people. We decide to stay the night at Dongara, a lovely little beach town with much heritage history as well as being a big lobster fishing port. We thought the inevitable wind would be a big problem so wanting to ease back into camping we headed to the local pub for a beer and a meal (not sure how long I can try that one...)

My Birthday in Joondalup

The Resort entrance
Just because its my birthday doesn't mean I am going to hit the ball over this quarry!!

Day 62
Thank you to everyone who phoned messaged and e mailed birthday wishes, I had a lovely day. We are having a fantastic time in this resort and I don’t know how I will ever leave and go back to camping!!?? After a yummy buffet brekkie we hit off at 9am on the Joondalup course, the “dunes” 9 first and the “quarry” 9 next. This is a tough course but the layout and views make it really enjoyable... as well as us both having a birdie with mine almost a hole in one! We enjoyed a delicious lunch at Sorrento about 12km from here and then back to the Resort to just chill out and relax.

9th hole of the Lakes Course at Joondalup

Day 61

We pack up and decide on one last swim at “Our” beach which didn’t disappoint. We decide to drive to Kalamunda in the Perth Hills. It is a lovely little Historical town which would be a cool change from Perth in the summer heat. Not only are there magnificent views of the city but we stumble across a very well kept display village which is very well maintained by dedicated volunteers. This coming weekend they are having a celebration with markets, a harvest festival and we are sorry we can’t stay. This is also the northern start...or finish of the Bibbulmun track and it is great to be able to get a bookend photo of this landmark. I am fully recovered from my huge walk of a couple weeks ago and would still love to walk the whole track ......someday...
Well, we have a surprise.........Our lovely girls have booked us into a Resort for the next 2 nights for Alan and my birthday’s!! Joondalup resort is north of the city and it has a lovely golf course as well. I am so excited and not sure if I will be able to handle the luxury!! A real bed...a bathroom...a TV....will be fantastic. I would like to have a manicure/pedicure too so will see...and I need to get to the hairdressers too, the possibilities are endless!! We arrive at the resort and it is truly gorgeous, not sure if it’s because we haven’t had luxury for a while but I do think this is a magnificent resort. There are 27 holes of golf here and as we are playing 18 tomorrow, we decide to play the other 9 this afternoon. Photos may not do the course justice but hope you enjoy, we are really looking forward to tomorrow.

I am now "Chair less"

Day 60

After a swim at South Beach we ride to Freemantle station and get the train to Perth. It is very easy as there is no peak hour being a holiday and plenty of room for the short half hour trip. We ride to Perth Mint first as there are only morning “pour demonstrations” which we see and it’s interesting to see how they get the gold into those neat little bars. Next on to the Bell Tower and a few of the Heritage buildings around the city. It’s such an easy city to ride around, much easier than trying to park a car or walk. We find a nice little city pub for lunch then take a ride around the beautiful Kings Park. There are thousands of people here having picnics and just enjoying the lovely weather and this beautiful park with spectacular views of the city and Swan River. We finish our ride at Subiaco and get the train back to Freemantle from there. What a magic day in this beautiful city. I returned from this lovely day to find my “Chair “is broken!! Yes... The Chair may have been sabotage but I am pointing no fingers!! I decide that the chair will stay here in Freemantle and hope that some poor chair less soul would like to repair it!! So as of tomorrow am on the lookout for a NEW Chair!!

Loving Freemantle!!

beautiful swimming weather and conditions on South Beach at Freemantle

Day 59
Woke to a glorious morning and decide to ride to South Freemantle Beach for a swim. This is a lovely beach with many locals and visitors taking an early dip in the beautiful clear calm Indian Ocean. There is a cute little cafe which has as many dogs and their owners enjoying the lovely coffee and brekkies on a lovely warm Sunday morning. We have been lucky here in Freemantle to find two great cafes which we call our Choux Boxes!! (If you remember, in our quest to find coffees as good as our Kingscliff local) We also decide we will stay here till Tuesday as it is easier than packing up and going to Perth for only a couple days. We will get the train to Perth tomorrow for the day and then head north Tues. As it is the Mon. Holiday it will be easy to get around and will take our bikes up on the train. We have had a relaxing day here and just catch up on a few more chores.

ANZAC DAY 2009

Spectacular Rocky coast on Rottnest
Lunch spot...can't get better!!

Hairy natives..AKA Quokkas or really mangey big rats!!

View from a gun battery as our war heroes would have seen

Tiger moths in a sort of formation for ANZAC DAY

Day 57
We have a bit of a quiet day and just look around Freemantle on our bikes. Another great city for cycling as it’s nice and flat and the car parking is at a premium so much easier to ride. We have seen many of the attractions a few years ago but still enjoy looking around. We decide to see a movie this afternoon so go back to the C.P. and get the car. The movie is Gran Torino with Clint Eastwood, which Al has been keen to see, we both really enjoy the movie and afterwards we get Thai takeaway (our 1st takeaway meal for the trip!!) It’s cooling down a little and again Alan is keen to head north.
Day 58....ANZAC DAY
We have decided to go to Rottnest Island today and have booked us...and our bikes on the 8:30am ferry. It is a lovely morning which clouds over throughout the day but perfect for riding around the Island. Neither of us has been here before and are not sure what to expect. It is actually a great day to visit the island as there is a lot of World ar 2 history here. There are no public cars so the roads were easy and safe to ride around, except for the many families and THOUSANDS of riders of all ages and abilities!! As any of you who have been here would know it is not flat but hills are gentle and because it was a little overcast made it most enjoyable riding. We stopped at a couple of lovely little coves for swims and a bit of a snorkel. Would be spectacular when it was fine, as the water was quite warm and fairly clear. We were surprised at the amount of accommodation of different kinds on the island and being a long weekend it looked fully booked. Glad we are not staying here this weekend!! We had a beer in the lovely pub beer garden, before getting the 4pm ferry back to Freo. By the time we got back to C.P. we had done 45km on our bikes, so slept well after dinner!!

The Cut!!

Stunning views from The Cut golf course

Day 56
We are able to leave our camper for the day at the Rockingham C.P. and we drive back down to The Cut for a 10:30am hit off. We know just about every inch of this road by now!! The weather is perfect and after playing this excellent course, we are glad we decided to wait till today. The scenery is magnificent and a really tough links course if you don’t keep on the fairways (and I didn’t!!) but a lovely day with magnificent ocean views and a beautifully manicured course. We get back to the camper and head to Freemantle Village C.P. It’s a great park with nice facilities and it’s only a 5km bike ride on a cycle path to the town centre.

Golf or no golf!!!!

Day 55
We drove about 45 minutes to “The Cut” golf course (In the top 3 golf courses in Australia) and on arriving it started to rain!! Our first wet day since Coffin Bay (S.A.) and we decide that it is not worth it to pay for or play such a magnificent course in the rain. We will decide if we are going to come back tomorrow and make some plans for the day. Drove to Freemantle to check out caravan parks, it is about an hour’s drive and we find a cafe which we had been to 3 years ago in the centre of Freo and we knew had good coffee. With a couple of lattes under our belts and after checking caravan parks, we make some decisions!! We will stay in Rockingham another night and try and play at the Cut tomorrow and will book into a park close to Freemantle for Thursday for 3 nights. As it is Anzac long weekend here we think it’s better to book ahead to get the park we want. It is fining up and we drive back to Mandurah to another course Alan knows, Meadow Springs, where we are lucky to be able to play 18 holes for the afternoon. It is fining up although a little windy but it is such a pretty parkland course with lush green fairways and course in great condition that we have an unexpectedly nice arvo.

Busselton and Rockingham

Carole and John Huitson's home in Busselton

Day 54
We head off to Busselton and call in to meet and have a coffee and lovely homemade scones, with Carole and John Huitson, in-laws of my friend at home, Lisa. We are going to meet up with Lisa and her family in Darwin at the end of July so it was nice to meet Carole and John, a delightful couple. They invite us to stay and park our camper in their enormous back yard( they could open a caravan park here and has green grass too!!) but we have a game of golf planned tomorrow early near Mandurah so we reluctantly keep travelling north. Stopped for lunch at Bunbury, a picnic on the waterfront, it is another glorious day bu. A swim would be lovely..... but we want to find somewhere to stay so keep moving north. We have a couple of options and Mandurah first with several caravan parks but we don’t particularly like the look of any of them. Mandurah is a sprawling town with lots of new waterfront development, and suppose the price of land prevents them from putting caravan parks in any of the nicer areas. We decide to try Rockingham further north and at this stage it’s getting late and we decide on a park here. It’s also not in a pick place (we have been very spoiled up to now with lovely beachy spots) but clean amenities and reasonably quiet. We think we will have to settle for these things as our new criteria when choosing a caravan park while around these outer city limits!

Golf at Margaret River

Day 53
Played golf at Margaret River about 9am. They have just held their big tournament here over the weekend (unfortunately we were too late to get in the draw) so the course is in top condition. We are welcomed by John and Mandy who are very good friends of my golf friend at home, Trudi Cox. The course is great (I had a good score too which helps) and unfortunately I forgot to bring my camera so you will have to believe me that this is a must play country WA course if any of you golfers are in this area. We decide that we will stay here tonight as well and decide to visit a couple more wineries, Xanadu and Watershed and have some wine being sent home, as all the wineries are offering free delivery within Australia for cartons as well. We hope the girls don’t think it is a gift for them when it arrives at home!!!

Albany to Margaret River via Cape Leeuwin

Bussleton Jetty
Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse

No explanation necessary

In the trunk of one of the tingle trees

Day 49
I have decided that since I am having trouble moving this morning after my big day yesterday that I won’t submit myself to the arranged game of golf. Thinking a day in bed would be a good idea but the house work needs to be done!! Oahhh!!! Where are those hand rails next to the toilets when you need them!!
Alan takes the car to Albany town for a service then I catch up on the blog. Alan has a massage booked in town and in a delirious moment I arrange to ride my bike to meet him for lunch later!! Well at first nothing seems to work but once things loosened up it actually wasn’t bad. After lunch and a look at the museum etc. I get a chance to have a leg massage myself...again very relieving for the poor sore muscles; I even manage a swim later in the lovely little Emu Point Bay near our camp. We have Wendy and Nick over for happy hour then dinner and ready to head West tomorrow.
Day50
We drive through Denmark and some lovely farmlands and forests arriving at The Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk near Walpole before a bit before lunch. It is as its name suggests a walk through an enormous tingle tree forest of an incredible age. Makes you feel very small and insignificant. We head on west and decide to try and make Augusta which is the south western most tip of Australia. In the afternoon I discover to my horror that my lovely gold bracelet is missing!! I am really upset but as I don’t know where I could have lost it there is no use retracing hundreds of km. L We arrive at a caravan park in Augusta and it is very crowded and not at all clean and we are given a very dusty dirty site. We figure we will put up with it for the night very begrudgingly. It doesn’t improve during the evening and night with many people having very smelly fires and with the still night didn’t improve our bad feeling for this park.
Day 51
We pack up early and leave the camper while we take a drive to Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse, stopping for a swim on the way in a lovely little protected beach in the Southern Ocean. As this is the south western tip it is also where the Southern Ocean and Indian Oceans meet. I dip my feet in both the oceans but don’t feel much difference in temp. The weather is just glorious and we hook up the trailer and head up to Margaret River. It is very busy in the township as the Margaret River Wine Festival is on. We have lunch and decide to try and find accom. A bit further north away from the crowds. After taking a look at Prevelly Beach we drive north about 10 minutes and find a lovely little park at Gracetown, It is a bush setting but clean and well set out so we book for 2 nights. The beach is only a couple of km away so head there for a swim in the Indian Ocean. Alan reckons it’s warmer than the other ocean, I’m not sure but it is so lovely a clean and clear. This is another popular surfing spot around this area and there are a few stand up paddle boards as well as surfboarders. A more peaceful night and no smoke so Happy Jan...and Al. Only one little drawback we have no mob. Phone, internet reception and there is no digital TV reception so we manage to get a bit of reading done and plan our next few days.
Day 52
We decide to take a drive up to Cape Naturaliste this morning. The drive through Yallingup and Dunsborough were just lovely with the sea calm and the sun shining. We stop at Dunsborough on the foreshore for a coffee and a read of the paper. Just the thing to do on a Sunday morning. Our visit to Cape Naturaliste was a little disappointing as the walking tracks were closed and you could only see the lighthouse if you did a tour. We just looked from afar and drove on to Busselton to have a look at the caravan park which had been recommended and check out the jetty. The van park is filled with school kids so we change our options for tomorrow! The jetty is under repair but we were able to have a little look and take some photos of the quaint boathouses painted in a lovely blue with white trim at the start of this jetty which is the longest in Australia (about 2km). We drive back and visit a couple of wineries, Vasse Felix and Mad Fish and an olive plantation. We have booked a couple of games of golf, tomorrow at Margaret River and Wednesday at “The Cut “at Mandurah, which Alan has played a few years ago and says is magnificent. We have decided to stay here another night and leave for Mandurah on Tuesday.

I walked the Bibbulmun Track and lived to tell the tale!!

Oh No 14 km to go!!!

Amazing views looking west

Day 48
Another overcast morning, about 17 degrees. Alan wants to head north soon as it is steadily getting cooler down this south west corner. Al drives me to the start of the Bibbulmun track at the wind farm, about 14km out of town. I have supplies and plan my walk to end in town about 5:30pm. Alan drops me off at 10:30am. I walk 2 and a half hours west and stop many times to take photos of both scenery and the beautiful wildflowers along the way. This is probably THE most magnificent walk I have ever done with the track winding through bush along the coastline with views of sheer cliffs, wind turbines, and waves crashing on the rocks below!!There is not much wind today and the sea is calm and not too hot so absolutely perfect for a little hike....After a quick lunch at 1:30pm it was time to walk back but as my legs got weary it became a bit of a chore and the excitement of the walk was starting to wear off. I got back to the wind farm at 4pm and the sign said 14km to Albany...I am very excited at this stage... as you can imagine.....my legs are cramping and I am starting to ration the last of my water but I have my IPod on some very inspirational music...some heavy rock that Sarah has loaded for me.. So with that, I press on. With the sun setting fast tho, I start to wonder whether my legs will make it back to the pickup point for Al!! About 5pm I make phone contact with Alan who starts searching for the land marks that I tell him I see, not sure why he can’t see the telegraph pole and sand track that I am talking about!!It’s within an area of a couple km!!! Anyway to cut this story a little shorter I finally find the main road after about another hour and my wonderful saviour has a cold Crown Lager for me...What a guy!! I think I have covered about 40km in 7 and half hours...No marathon time I know but it was tough going out in the bush!! I have some amazing photos....and very sore feet!! From an incredible day. By the way Al played some great golf on The Albany Golf Course and he described it as a nice little links course. He played with a couple of locals and had 30points so his day was fun too!!

St Johns Church in Albany
View of the Harbour,Albany

Day 46
Got an early start and headed south. Stopped at Bremer Bay and Cheyene’s Beach to see if we would stay as they had been recommended but it was a bit windy and cooler so decided to drive on to Albany. Arrive about 4pm and the park we choose is full with the last of the Easter crowds. We find another park at Emu Beach and are not disappointed. It is a little crowded but we find a nice spot, sheltered and with a beach only a couple hundred metres away over dunes. We need to have the car serviced so have booked here for 4 nights and there are a few other things we can do here as well.
Day47
Still a little cool, about 21 degrees and overcast but not windy. We decide to ride on one of the terrific bike/walking tracks that they have in many of the beach towns we have visited. We head into Albany town Centre via the harbour with terrific scenery. The town is very crowded after Easter and with School hols also but we manage to get a delicious coffee at the Albany version of the Choux Box. Back to Caravan Park for lunch and on the way Al and I book into golf at Albany golf course (grass greens!!)Which is 5 minutes from where we are staying? Alan is playing in the men’s comp tomorrow and I am playing with the ladies on Thursday. Bit of a worry since neither of us has played comp since well before we left home! We get a bit of shopping done and some info on the Bibbulmun Track which is a 975km (approx) walking track from here in Albany to Perth. I have always wanted to walk at least part of it so am going to go tomorrow while Alan plays golf. Not sure how far I will get but will report after tomorrow on how I go. We see Wendy in town and they are staying at another park nearby. Back at the camp, we finally get the TV going!!! Can only get SBS and there is a Spanish program on so hoping we get English speaking programs later otherwise we will have to learn spanish very quickly??? The caravan park has quietened down with many people leaving this morning so much more pleasant.

Wave Rock Hyden

Sunset view at Lake King

Day 45
Left Kalgoorlie early and headed down the Woodland trail. A gravel road about 370km with about 40km ungraded so was slow going. The woodland scenery was lovely though. Gum trees with the most beautiful smooth red trunks and limbs. We arrived at Hyden about 3pm and being Easter Sunday there were lots of tourists there as well. The Wave Rock which we had come to see was spectacular though and we climbed over the rocks admiring the weathered formation as well as the view from the top of the surrounding bush. We decided it was a little too crowded here to stay the night so headed further south to the very small village of Lake King. We were happily surprised to find probably the nicest cleanest and well tended caravan park that we have stayed at on the trip. There were only about 20 sites and a few vans there so not too crowded. A lovely night to end another great day on the road.

The Day we discovered the Questa Casa Bordello!!

Sunset over Kalgoorlie
Al looks at home here????!!!

Day 44

The City of Kalgoorlie is much busier this morning. We book our afternoon tour of the Oldest operating Brothel in Australia!!??Kalgoorlie anyway! Big call so we will see...... We have so much experience in this area!!! We take in the Kalgoorlie Museum and just chill a bit before the 2pm tour. We get to the brothel, which is pink and looks like a tin shed with horse stalls?? What do I know!! There are about 20 others on the tour and we are greeted by the Madam, Carmel, a very nicely groomed and well spoken lady in her late 60’s, who had not worked her way to the top, but had bought the business 17 years ago to recover from depression after becoming a widow!! Mmmm..... For the next Hour and half she regaled us with stories both recent and historically of life in the oldest brothel in this Gold Mining town. She left nothing out and we left there with a bit more of a picture of the working girls lives out here!! We decided on breaking a bottle of bubbly at the Super Pit Lookout at Sunset before a steak at Hogs Breath cafe (that’s what ya do in Kalgoorlie on a Sat nite!!) It’s still nice and warm 25 degrees. We will pack up in the morning and head down the Woodland Trail tomorrow to Hyden.

Good Friday in Kalgoorlie

Day43

I’m a bit dopey this morning after taking some medication last night for my condition. Alan says this is normal!! After brekkie we head up to the lookout of the Super Pit, which is the biggest open cut gold mine in the World?? Apparently Alan Bond was responsible for amalgamating all the old mine leases in the 80’s and developed this enormous mine. The viewing platform gives a fantastic 360 degree view of the working mine, the huge trucks looking like matchbox toys!! After a walk around the deserted town, looking at the many old buildings from the gold mining era of the late 1800’s ,we spent the rest of the day at the caravan park making use of the swimming pool. Wendy and Nick arrived about 3pm and are staying at a park nearby. We ride our bikes to visit them about 5pm then back to our park to enjoy a fish dinner and watch the lovely clear evening sky.

Shingles in Kalgoorlie!!

Day 42

Left Esperance after shopping. Picnic lunch at Kambalda, about 60km from Kalgoorlie, which has a lookout over an enormous salt lake ,Lake Lefroy. There is nickel mining going on all around here and from brochures we have seen there is occasionally sail buggy racing on this lake. Must be an incredible spectacle. We arrive in Kalgoorlie after passing turnoffs to many mines sites on the way. Find a caravan park and it is very hot!! I am not happy as I think I have a case of Shingles!! Without going into detail I have probably had it for about 10 days so too late for medication and will have to let it run its course. The heat however, accentuates the problem but we are in Kalgoorlie at 4pm before the Easter weekend so will have to deal with it!! Alan has decided this town is for him though!! All the pubs in town have topless waitresses various nights, the brothels even have tours and....he went to the men’s amenities and “Ingrid”, from the Netherlands was in there sharing her towel with her boyfriend!........ mmmmm and real estate is cheap!!

Cape Le Grand National Park....Cést Magnifique!!!

Day 41

Decided to drive to Cape Le Grand National Park today, about 70km drive mostly on sealed roads and Wendy and Nick are going to come also. We knew it would be lovely, but with the perfect weather and no wind it was absolutely spectacular. For any of you who have visited here would know just how beautiful this coastline is. I took many photos but not sure if the pics will show the true colour of the ocean. An artist’s dream with the pristine white sands and clear pale blue shoreline gradually turning to deeper blues. Most of the beaches were deserted and we swam in the clearest water I think I have ever swum in. Water temp was about 20 degrees and air temp 26 degrees. We drove to a settlement just outside the Nat. Park, to the Condingup Tavern for a delicious Orleans Bay Snapper lunch and a cold beer. We had just enough time for a quick dip at Wharton’s Beach before heading back to Esperance. What a fantastic day!! We will be sad to leave this area tomorrow but the crowds will be here for Easter and we will be glad to get away from it all up to Kalgoorlie.

ESPERANCE

Al hitting a prfect shot
Appropriate signage

Our playing partners,The Cape Barren Geese

West Beach, Esperance

Day 40
Awake to beautiful morning! Sunshine, clear blue sky and no wind. We decide on a bike ride to the lookout. There are a few hills but the view from the top is worth it. The claim that they have the best beaches in Australia is not far wrong. A couple of guys body boarding, in full thick wetsuits changes my mind about a swim. The water is so clear and glistening. Back at camp I decide to catch up on blog/e mails etc. Al decides to boost the Hamilton Stimulus Package by buying a new car battery! The you beaut TV connection we bought in Port Lincoln doesn’t seem to work so I head to Dick Smith and we apparently can only pick up digital so a bit more boost to the local retail economy($150!) and we have a new compatible connection. We decide to recharge our own batteries with a game of golf. A beautiful arvo was spent on the Esperance golf course. Some good shots and some really awful but the match score was squared so nice outcome. Almost every hole has water!! And the Cape Barren Geese which are the emblem for the course wander around many holes. They apparently spend their days working on the course eating grass and fertilising the greens before flying home to Macquarie Island just off the coast in the evenings. Cheap labour!! Back at camp and we talk to the girls on Skype. Anj has had 2 wisdom teeth removed today so being able to communicate on Skype is the way to go as she is having trouble talking. Sair and Lisa are looking after her and its lovely to see the whole family. With much trying we can’t get the TV working!! Have to return it tomorrow and get some instruction!!

Norseman to Esperance...still no sign of Thelma

Norseman Gold Mine
Tin Camels in Norseman town Centre

Day 39
Leave at 7am. We are awake early as the sunrise is at a decent time. Have a look around Norseman and take in a bit of the history. It is not only the first major town heading west after crossing the Nullarbor but is still a big Gold mining town. A short drive to a great lookout of the town, mines operating and the surrounding countryside before we drive 200km south to Esperance and will make a decision about going into the National Parks when we get a bit more info there. Arrive at Esperance about lunchtime and check out a couple of the parks. We decide on a small one, The Esperance Bay tourist park and are greeted by a lovely family, Lucy and John and their 2 kids from Brissie, who we were camped next to us at Coffin Bay. I suppose we are all travelling in the same direction so are bound to meet up with the same people. After talking with the park owner we will have to change our plans a little. As Easter is this week and all the caravan parks are booked out and from all predictions the National Parks will be full, we decide to stay here for 3 nights and then head up to Kalgoorlie on Thursday for the long weekend. We do some shopping and check out the golf club which looks quite good and has greens!! A phone call from Wendy and Nick, and they have arrived in Esperance and have booked into a dog friendly park at the other end of town. We take a bike ride there just before dark and the strong wind makes for a difficult ride along the esplanade. Hoping the wind drops tomorrow as we are going for a drive to the Cape Le Grande Nat Park and hopefully a swim.

P.S. We set the traps for one last time but think Thelma has stayed on in Fowlers Bay??? Will update this if there is any further evidence!!

Ruins of Eucla Telegraph Station

The Border

Didn't see any of these animals but had to get a pic.of sign

Day 38
We get an early start as we still have a long way to travel. Wendy and Nick have a problem with the wiring in their van and also their fridge is not working properly so just as well we have let all our food supplies go down for the border crossing. No fruit, veg’s or honey and we cross over into Western Australia mid morning. Fuel is expensive ($1.60 per litre diesel) we try to drive economically and keep hoping the fuel will be cheaper at the next roadhouse. Alan and I decide that we would like to try and make at least Norseman by the night and it is 700km so we leave Wendy and Nick and will meet them somewhere in a week or so. A long day driving but I am able to do some cross words to pass time as I normally get car sick but the roads are so straight that I don’t have a problem. We arrive in Norseman about 5:30 and are very happy to have a shower. Ride our bikes to the pub. As it’s a Sunday night it is fairly quiet in town. We have had 2 time changes today and we think it is 2 hours behind Cudgen time. It’s a bit cooler tonight which is nice for sleeping but outside the camper with no awning up it gets a bit breezy.
