Day 66

We drive into the city centre and esplanade for a coffee and a look at the HMAS Sydney memorial which sits on a hill overlooking the harbour. I will include a photo and for any of you who have been here will know it is a very beautiful design with 645 seagulls in a dome shape and the bronze statue of a woman looking out to sea waiting for her husband to come home as well as the names of all the seamen who went down with the ship during World War 2. It really is very simple but poignant. We are booked in to play golf at The Spalding Park course in an Open Day competition. I play with 3 lovely local ladies and Alan with local men so nice for a change As I predicted Alan’s golf greatly improved playing with the blokes (maybe it’s all the side money bets that make him play better) I had a lovely day and golf ok. The ladies have asked me to come back and play in their charity day on Wednesday and after much deliberating I am going to play so we will stay in Geraldton till Thursday now. There is quite a bit to see and we can do some catching up too. I get a phone msg from Wendy and Nick and they are in Geraldton at another park till Wednesday and they are going to come to our park for a barbq dinner tomorrow night. Will be nice to catch up.
