Birthday Lunch of Oysters at Stansbury,SA.

Day 19

Alan’s Birthday!!!
We woke early....not really early, because it doesn’t get light here till about 7am here. Went for a bike ride around the town and to North Beach. It is a beautiful morning, no wind and lots of boaties out. Back to camp to pack up and say goodbye to Jenny and Ross who are heading home to Warragul in Victoria. We head south to the southern part of the Peninsula with no definite plans. We buy some fresh oysters and stop at several different fishing villages on our way and decide to stop for lunch at Stansbury. It is such a beautiful day, still no wind and we enjoy our oysters on the lovely foreshore. On to Edithburgh and we make a decision to stay here at this quaint little town right on the water with views of Troubridge Island, a conservation Park and in the distance, Adelaide. We decide to have a game of golf. Well there is no grass...anywhere, the tees are artificial grass and the greens, black fine oiled gravel which Alan called “scrapes”. What and experience!! Well, there was a lot of run on the course and a couple of the holes would rival Pebble Beach, the greens were tricky but we had a bit of fun and at the end some of the locals invited us on to the verandah for a beer. A lovely afternoon!! Alan decides to barbq dinner for his birthday and we open a bottle of Ninth Island red to celebrate. Ahhh!! Life on the Road ....
