Barn Hill Station

sunset view from our camp at Barhill station

Day 97
We wake to rain so pack up quickly and head further north. We have made arrangements to meet up with our friends Geoff and Faye Lennon from Banora Point who we have know for many years from our 4wd club days. They are at Barn Hill Station which is about 130km south of Broome and are there for 6 weeks so it must be nice. We arrive there about 12md and after meeting up with Faye and Geoff we set up camp in the non powered section which has the most magnificent ocean views. Wendy, Nick and Lucy arrive and set up their van right behind the Lennon’s and will stay here 4 nights. The powered section is a little more crowded but shady and apparently a very social place with people coming from all over to enjoy the fishing and gorgeous beach and meals a couple of times a week provided by the station at a reasonable price and which we are told “are not to be missed.” It’s also dog friendly so another attraction. We are however very happy with our spectacular views and have a swim in the lovely warm ocean on a magnificent stretch of beach before enjoying another glorious sunset and a beautiful clear evening watching the stars shimmer on the ocean.
