Don't always believe Roadhouse managers!!

Imintji Roadhouse

Day 106

We stop at Imintji roadhouse about 25km from Silent Grove and are surprised to find real coffee!! We enjoyed it on a lovely grassy garden which would rival many garden cafes in the burbs. After getting some info on our next stop we headed to the entrance to Mornington Wilderness Camp and phone to check in. It’s 100km in here but the guy at the roadhouse said it was lovely........Well after 1 and half hours we were really expecting something out of this world but it really turned out to be a bird lovers paradise....and not really a lot else. You can hire canoes to take up the gorge but they are not cheap and it takes about an hour to drive to each gorge. Also the swimming hole is very ordinary so we make a decision to only stay 1 night......and not always take advice from Roadhouse managers!!! We find out later that the other station, Charnley River would have been a better option and not as far off the road. Oh well!! you live and learn.
