Chilli Creek is lovely....Al is that a rock or a croc??!!

Day99
We were going to stay and check out the beaches here today but when it was a bit windy decided to take a drive up to Cape Leveque and some of the other settlements on the way. It’s another 31km of sandy track out to the bitumen then smooth sailing all the way to Cape Leveque. We stop at Chilli Creek and Lombardina on the way and paid our $10 for access to the beach. Despite warnings of crocs possibly being in the area, we venture out to the creek which is just gorgeous with clear blue water and soft sand. Al sends me down to the water for a dip..........nah I say I will prepare the lunch!! We drove through a soft sand track to the beach and enjoy a dip in the magnificent clear ocean with not a soul to be seen. We wonder if it can get better than this as we head up to Cape Leveque. On arrival we leave our car at the entrance and walk past the point to the beach for a swim passing various accommodations, from campers and tents to camper trailers and when we got to the beach some cute little shelters made of palm fronds as well as eco tents and cottages. We enjoyed our swim in gorgeous clear blue water and with magnificent coastal views and were even contemplating coming back to stay but after we enquired as to availability, the girl told us we had to pay $10 for our walk through the resort and swim at the beach!!!.... So we thought that is a bit much and we headed right back to Middle Lagoon and the less populated lovely camp spot.
