The Day we discovered the Questa Casa Bordello!!

Sunset over Kalgoorlie
Al looks at home here????!!!

Day 44

The City of Kalgoorlie is much busier this morning. We book our afternoon tour of the Oldest operating Brothel in Australia!!??Kalgoorlie anyway! Big call so we will see...... We have so much experience in this area!!! We take in the Kalgoorlie Museum and just chill a bit before the 2pm tour. We get to the brothel, which is pink and looks like a tin shed with horse stalls?? What do I know!! There are about 20 others on the tour and we are greeted by the Madam, Carmel, a very nicely groomed and well spoken lady in her late 60’s, who had not worked her way to the top, but had bought the business 17 years ago to recover from depression after becoming a widow!! Mmmm..... For the next Hour and half she regaled us with stories both recent and historically of life in the oldest brothel in this Gold Mining town. She left nothing out and we left there with a bit more of a picture of the working girls lives out here!! We decided on breaking a bottle of bubbly at the Super Pit Lookout at Sunset before a steak at Hogs Breath cafe (that’s what ya do in Kalgoorlie on a Sat nite!!) It’s still nice and warm 25 degrees. We will pack up in the morning and head down the Woodland Trail tomorrow to Hyden.
