Thelma is following us around Australia!!

A couple of friendly seals

Day 35

Alan opened the car door this morning and he was greeted by a mouse on the front seat!!!! Hello Thelma he said!! ..................Here is the story of Thelma.....
Years ago, Anj had a school science project which required a mouse. To cut a long story short one of the mice, which we named Thelma escaped at Cudgen about 1998. In 2006 Alan and I took a camping trip to Victoria and discovered a mouse living in the camper, perhaps carried inadvertently from Cudgen, and who we called Thelma 2nd ,who may or may not actually be the original science mouse....(how long do mice live for??)And who we last saw escaping through the Eden (NSW) caravan park, with a little help from a hammer and a kitchen spatula! Well, we think Thelma has found us again!! And here the adventures of Thelma 3rd begin....
We decide to deal with this later as we are going on our sea lion adventure trip. It’s a bit cool and the Captain asks several times if we have got warm jackets!! The trip turns out to be absolutely fantastic. A bit cold in and out of the water but to swim with dolphins and sea lions is an experience not to be missed. They just swim around us and are just inquisitive and playful. It was however verrrrrry cold. 17/18degrees but the air temp with breeze was chilly. If anyone is around these parts don’t miss it!!, but summer would be ideal. Back at Streaky Bay, Al was able to fix the Shockies (the bolts arrived as promised) and we were on our way west. Have arranged to meet Wendy and Nick at Fowlers Bay, about 150km west of Ceduna. We buy some lovely fresh oysters at Ceduna and arrive at Fowlers Bay about 6pm. The park is nice and small and we have a lovely spot protected from the wind next to Wendy and Nick. The oysters are fantastic...the best we have had!! But ....we had better keep tasting them to make sure!! We have totally unpacked the car and the park owner has lent us an old mouse trap, so will try that and see what tomorrow brings and will deal with Thelma then....if no luck ,maybe there is a cat in the park who may be interested in a little .....mmm.....mouse entree????
