Wave Rock Hyden

Sunset view at Lake King

Day 45
Left Kalgoorlie early and headed down the Woodland trail. A gravel road about 370km with about 40km ungraded so was slow going. The woodland scenery was lovely though. Gum trees with the most beautiful smooth red trunks and limbs. We arrived at Hyden about 3pm and being Easter Sunday there were lots of tourists there as well. The Wave Rock which we had come to see was spectacular though and we climbed over the rocks admiring the weathered formation as well as the view from the top of the surrounding bush. We decided it was a little too crowded here to stay the night so headed further south to the very small village of Lake King. We were happily surprised to find probably the nicest cleanest and well tended caravan park that we have stayed at on the trip. There were only about 20 sites and a few vans there so not too crowded. A lovely night to end another great day on the road.
