Day 42
Left Esperance after shopping. Picnic lunch at Kambalda, about 60km from Kalgoorlie, which has a lookout over an enormous salt lake ,Lake Lefroy. There is nickel mining going on all around here and from brochures we have seen there is occasionally sail buggy racing on this lake. Must be an incredible spectacle. We arrive in Kalgoorlie after passing turnoffs to many mines sites on the way. Find a caravan park and it is very hot!! I am not happy as I think I have a case of Shingles!! Without going into detail I have probably had it for about 10 days so too late for medication and will have to let it run its course. The heat however, accentuates the problem but we are in Kalgoorlie at 4pm before the Easter weekend so will have to deal with it!! Alan has decided this town is for him though!! All the pubs in town have topless waitresses various nights, the brothels even have tours and....he went to the men’s amenities and “Ingrid”, from the Netherlands was in there sharing her towel with her boyfriend!........ mmmmm and real estate is cheap!!
