Day 40
Awake to beautiful morning! Sunshine, clear blue sky and no wind. We decide on a bike ride to the lookout. There are a few hills but the view from the top is worth it. The claim that they have the best beaches in Australia is not far wrong. A couple of guys body boarding, in full thick wetsuits changes my mind about a swim. The water is so clear and glistening. Back at camp I decide to catch up on blog/e mails etc. Al decides to boost the Hamilton Stimulus Package by buying a new car battery! The you beaut TV connection we bought in Port Lincoln doesn’t seem to work so I head to Dick Smith and we apparently can only pick up digital so a bit more boost to the local retail economy($150!) and we have a new compatible connection. We decide to recharge our own batteries with a game of golf. A beautiful arvo was spent on the Esperance golf course. Some good shots and some really awful but the match score was squared so nice outcome. Almost every hole has water!! And the Cape Barren Geese which are the emblem for the course wander around many holes. They apparently spend their days working on the course eating grass and fertilising the greens before flying home to Macquarie Island just off the coast in the evenings. Cheap labour!! Back at camp and we talk to the girls on Skype. Anj has had 2 wisdom teeth removed today so being able to communicate on Skype is the way to go as she is having trouble talking. Sair and Lisa are looking after her and its lovely to see the whole family. With much trying we can’t get the TV working!! Have to return it tomorrow and get some instruction!!
