Norseman to Esperance...still no sign of Thelma

Norseman Gold Mine
Tin Camels in Norseman town Centre

Day 39
Leave at 7am. We are awake early as the sunrise is at a decent time. Have a look around Norseman and take in a bit of the history. It is not only the first major town heading west after crossing the Nullarbor but is still a big Gold mining town. A short drive to a great lookout of the town, mines operating and the surrounding countryside before we drive 200km south to Esperance and will make a decision about going into the National Parks when we get a bit more info there. Arrive at Esperance about lunchtime and check out a couple of the parks. We decide on a small one, The Esperance Bay tourist park and are greeted by a lovely family, Lucy and John and their 2 kids from Brissie, who we were camped next to us at Coffin Bay. I suppose we are all travelling in the same direction so are bound to meet up with the same people. After talking with the park owner we will have to change our plans a little. As Easter is this week and all the caravan parks are booked out and from all predictions the National Parks will be full, we decide to stay here for 3 nights and then head up to Kalgoorlie on Thursday for the long weekend. We do some shopping and check out the golf club which looks quite good and has greens!! A phone call from Wendy and Nick, and they have arrived in Esperance and have booked into a dog friendly park at the other end of town. We take a bike ride there just before dark and the strong wind makes for a difficult ride along the esplanade. Hoping the wind drops tomorrow as we are going for a drive to the Cape Le Grande Nat Park and hopefully a swim.

P.S. We set the traps for one last time but think Thelma has stayed on in Fowlers Bay??? Will update this if there is any further evidence!!
